Legacy Giving

Do you wish you could make a significant gift to support the animals at the Thunder Bay District Humane Society? By making a planned gift, such as a bequest in your will, you can help the animals without affecting your current income.

We are always looking for new ways to help more animals as well as expand on our current programs, and legacy gifts allow the Thunder Bay District Humane Society to help animals today, and to plan for tomorrow.

Making A Legacy Gift

Your legacy is a footprint you will leave behind, through a planned gift to the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society, you can continue to touch the hearts of animals in need, into the future.

By making a legacy gift, such as a bequest in your will, you can help the animals without affecting your current income. Apart from a gift in your will, there are a few other ways to leave a legacy gift, which include adding the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society as a beneficiary of your Life Insurance, RRSP, RRIF or Securities – whichever option you choose, you can feel good that your gift will be helping mistreated, abandoned and neglected animals.

Getting Started

The first step is planning and you may wish to work with a lawyer and or financial advisor to develop an estate plan to ensure your wishes are carried out as intended.

Donations

Your donation is truly appreciated and will assist the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society in providing shelter, food, veterinary care and enrichment to the hundreds of animals that are admitted to the shelter every year. Rehabilitating stray animals often requires months of veterinary care, special medication, food and socialization, making large demands on the Thunder Bay District Humane Society.

Donations can also be gently used items such as  blankets, beds and unopened food. If you would like to donate an item please donate by dropping it off directly at the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society.

A tax receipt will be issued to you by electronic mail/Canada Post for donations of $20 or more.
